Terms of service

Draft of 22 October 2026

Who we are

Services on jakamarinko.com are provided by Company d.o.o., Street 1, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia, registration number 0000000000, VAT ID SI00000000, email [email protected]. Coaching and lab tests are carried out by Jaka Marinko and the coaches working with him.

These terms apply to every booking, package and account. How we handle personal data is in the privacy policy.

Account

You sign in with an email link or with Google. Keep access to your email safe; everything done from your account counts as done by you. Give us correct details, especially about your health.

Booking and payment

Lab tests take place by appointment, usually between 7:00 and 19:00, and must be booked at least 24 hours in advance. The price is shown before you book and is the price you pay. A booking is confirmed when it is paid online through Stripe or covered by a credit from your package, and you receive a confirmation email.

The test takes place at the location given in the confirmation email. Follow the preparation instructions we send, for example no hard training in the 24 hours before a test.

Cancelling and rescheduling

  • At least 24 hours before the start you can cancel or reschedule free of charge, in your account or by email. A payment is refunded in full to the original payment method; a credit is returned to your account.
  • Less than 24 hours before, or not showing up: the full price is charged, or the credit is used. If you are ill or injured, tell us before the start and we offer you a new time once, free of charge.
  • If we have to cancel (for example illness or a broken device), you choose between a new time and a full refund.

Right of withdrawal

As a consumer you may withdraw from a contract concluded online within 14 days, without giving a reason, by writing to [email protected]. If you ask for a service to start within those 14 days (for example a test booked for next week or a package starting today), you pay for the part already provided, and once a service is fully provided the right of withdrawal ends.

Packages and subscriptions

  • Plan, Coaching and Elite are subscriptions paid in advance each month, or each year with two months free. They renew automatically until you cancel.
  • Coaching and Elite have a minimum term of 3 months. Plan has no minimum term.
  • You cancel in your account settings at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period, but not before the minimum term ends.
  • What each package includes, including calls, comments and in-person sessions with a coach, is described on its page. Personal contact with a coach is part of a package only where that description says so.
  • Credits (for example a lactate test every 3 months) are added on the package's schedule and used by booking. A credit is valid for 6 months and ends with the subscription.

Lab tests

A lactate profile test takes about 60 minutes on a bike trainer, a running track or a treadmill, depending on your sport. After a 5-minute warm-up at easy intensity, the pace or power rises in steps of about 3 to 5 minutes. At the end of each step we measure heart rate and take a drop of blood from a fingertip to measure lactate. You receive a written report with your training zones within 48 hours, and can ask questions about it by email.

  • Submaximal test: ends a little above your estimated lactate threshold. You do not go to maximal effort.
  • Maximal test: continues until exhaustion or until a stop criterion below is reached.

Health questionnaire, consent and safety

  • Before every test you fill in the health questionnaire PAR-Q+ and must answer it truthfully. If your answers call for it, you need your doctor's clearance before the test.
  • Before a maximal test you also sign a written informed consent form that explains the test and its risks.
  • Maximal effort is demanding for the heart and circulation and can cause exhaustion, nausea, dizziness and, rarely, more serious heart problems. The finger prick can leave a small bruise.
  • You may stop a test at any moment, without giving a reason.
  • We stop the test immediately if you ask, or if you show chest pain or pressure, dizziness, confusion, unusual shortness of breath, paleness or cold sweat, an irregular or unusual heart rate, or any other sign that continuing is unsafe, and when equipment fails. If your answers or your condition on the day suggest a risk, we postpone the test; it is then rescheduled or refunded.
  • In an emergency we stop the test, call 112 and give first aid until help arrives.

Tests and training plans are not medical advice

A lab test is not a medical examination and does not replace one. Test results, training zones, plans, analyses and reports are sports guidance, not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Stop training if you feel pain, chest pressure, dizziness or unusual shortness of breath, tell your coach about illness or injury, and see a doctor when in doubt. How plans and reports are prepared is explained in the privacy policy.

Liability

We are liable for damage under Slovenian law. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for harm to life, body or health, or your rights as a consumer. You help keep tests safe by answering the questionnaire truthfully and telling us how you feel during the test.

Complaints and disputes

Send complaints to [email protected]; we confirm receipt within 5 working days and reply within 8 working days. Slovenian law applies. We do not recognise any provider of out-of-court consumer dispute resolution. Disputes are decided by the competent court in Slovenia; consumers keep the rights the law of their country gives them.

Changes

We may change these terms. The version in force when you book applies to that booking. For running subscriptions we announce changes by email at least 30 days in advance, and you may cancel before they apply.
